Dayton Artist and PR Professional Benjamin Baugham Wins Young Professional of the Year Award

Benjamin Baugham, a talented artist and PR professional, has been named the Young Professional of the Year for his work at Culture Works, an art-funding organization here in Dayton, Ohio. Baugham, who is highly sought after for his artwork, has also made a name for himself in the public relations space, actively volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and the Downtown Dayton Partnership.

Baugham is known for his ability to communicate with people from all walks of life and of all ages. He is an excellent speaker and presenter, and his communications work has helped to connect his clients with new audiences through different media and channels.

Bill Perry, director of development and marketing at Culture Works, where Baugham currently works, said, "Ben strives for excellence in his artistic and communications work. Receiving repeat requests to have Ben as a speaker and presenter fills me with pride and makes me excited to see what he will communicate next! Ben is an asset to any team, and all of us at Culture Works are excited to watch him grow and thrive in the years to come."

In addition to his work at Culture Works, Baugham organized a new event series designed to showcase local artists and bring people into the Downtown environment. These mini events generated thousands of dollars and increased Culture Works' reach on social media dramatically - especially through Instagram. This will eventually become a new program that goes even further in 2023.

Baugham's willingness to take risks and try new approaches make him a perfect candidate for this award. Before coming to Culture Works, and while actively pursuing his Bachelor's Degree, he started a company called BluPrint. The idea was simply to connect local artists to local opportunities for them to be paid for their work.

"Ben is a natural connector and has a talent for bringing people together in creative ways. His work as an artist and in PR has made a significant impact on the Dayton community," said Sarah Chapman, development committee chair for Culture Works and Senior Director of Digital strategy at CareSource.

Baugham will be honored at the Gem City PR Awards, Presented by CareSource on Wednesday, May 24 at the Top of the Market beginning at 5:30pm. This is our region’s biggest and best PR awards program. All players are welcome, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, large agencies, and small teams. Register here.
